R.B.'s Staff
Rod Bickel
Rod started cycling in 1985 due to a knee injury, but never envisioned it turning into a career. "I went to watch the Memphis In May Triathlon in 1988, volunteered for the run leg and decided that next year I would do the bike leg on a relay team. From that point I started racing in triathlons and duathlons every year."
Rod first got into the cycling business when he couldn't find triathlon specific products or a good wrench to tune his bike. Rod's first bike shop started as a hobby and was just a way to pay for his own bike goodies and racing.
A short time later Rod met bike fit guru John Cobb in Shreveport. John helped Rod get started in the bike business and worked with him on many bike fit sessions. "I don't know if I should thank John or cuss him for getting me into this business. Now I enjoy helping customers find the best cycling equipment and fitting them properly to their new bike. "
"The biggest joy about cycling is not just the fitness you gain but the great people you meet and the wounderful places you see while riding. I can honestly say I have truly met life long friends thru cycling."

Jay Williams
After graduation, Jay opened and managed a triathlon store in San Antonio, Texas. During that time, Jay was invited to work with USA Triathlon as one of the World Cup bicycle mechanics. "This position allowed me the unique opportunity to travel the world and meet some of the worlds best endurance athletes."
"Today, I am back home in Tennessee doing what I love. I'm excited to share my 16 years of bike shop knowledge and experience with you.

David Ansel
As a teenager, David was introduced to cycling by his parents and hasn't stopped riding since. David quickly progressed from an enthusiast to and avid road racer. Now, David competes in all forms of bicycle racing. But, more than racing, David loves the sense of adventure and community that cycling brings.
David has been working as a professional bicycle mechanic since 2006. He is experienced in maintaining road, tri, mountain bikes and pretty much anything on two wheels. David is skilled in all aspects of bicycle maintenance, including wheel building, suspension service, and electronic drivetrain tuning.

Andrew Clancy
Andrew fell in love with the outdoors in college while hiking, kayaking and mountain biking with friends. After finishing his MBA at the University of Florida, Andrew was poised to continue climbing the corporate ladder. Instead, he took a hike on the Appalachian Trail and moved back to Franklin, his childhood home.
"I love being able to work with positive people, doing something I truly enjoy, in a place with plenty of room to get lost on a bike or in hiking boots."

Eli Wemyss
If you met Eli you would say he's just a standard guy that eats Cheez-its. But he has been actively involved in competitive cycling for over five years and has competed in cycling all over the southeast.
"It is my desire to develop a career in cycling. I presently attend Lees-McRae College where I am studying Sports Administration with a minor in Cycling. As a member of the school's cycling team, I have competed in all aspects of competitive cycling including road, mountain, track and cyclocross racing."

Eddie Helton
Eddie is originally from southern California, but more recently moved to Nashville from Greenville, SC. Eddie has been wrenching on his own bikes since the 80's and works in bike shops during the summers when he's not teaching school.
Most recently, Eddie worked as the wheel builder for Boyd Cycling and built many trick carbon wheelsets. Eddie also enjoys photography and can be found at national races taking photos from the moto. Check out his pics at www.eddieheltonphotography or come in and say hello!

Easton - Shop Guard Dog
Ruffff...Ruffff...Ruffff!
If I'm not sleeping in my comfy bed, then you can usually find me wandering around the shop keeping watch for crumbs dropped by my bike shop buddies. I might be an old lady now, but in my hay-day they called me a "natural born killer".
My only requirements for friendship are lots of yummy treats and pets. My favorite part of the day is venturing outside to get the m.a.i.l. (I'm not supposed to know the spelling of that word - don't say anything to Rod).
